Mr Leonardo Vitorino the head coach of Lanexang United said “I am very proud of my squad to be a representative of the clubs in Laos to participate in this tournament. I admit that SHB Da Nang is powerful. Although, they occupied third place in the league table, they were only one point behind the Runner-up and the Champions. However, we hope to win this game and write a new story for football in Laos. We know they have an Argentine forward who has speed and can score well, but we have a plan for that.”
On his team’s improvement leading into the match, Leonardo Vitorino said “We began training since the middle of October and have recruited a few players such as Soukaphone Vongchiengkham. He has experience playing abroad. We also recruited a talented young player whom we think will help our team be more competitive.
The media asked Soukaphone about his return to Lanexang United and how he felt training with old and new teammates. On his return to Lanexang United, Soukaphone said “I am very proud and it is an honour for me to participate in a big tournament like this. It’s good to train with old and new teammates from different clubs. I strongly believe in our coaching staff and my teammates. After the hard training, I and my team will do our best to have a good result and make it hard for them.’’
Meanwhile, the head coach of Da Nang, Lê Huỳnh Đức said “This is the first time for Da Nang to participate in this tournament and I hope that our players will have a good experience from this game. After the league ended, we had only ten days to prepare the team and it will be hard for us, but we hope to win the match and gain the point.”
When the media asked the head coach of Da Nang about their counterpart Lanexang United, Lê Huỳnh Đức said “For this match, we still don’t know much about them. We arrived in Laos and started to study their team. We know they have many excellent foreign players who will make the game very tough for our team.”
On his team’s preparedness and challenges, Lê Huỳnh Đức said “The challenge for us will be the physical conditioning of our players. Some are not fully fit and this will affect our playing. In our squad, we have only five foreign players. However, we will play fairly and impress our fans.”
The match will be held at Chao Anouvong Stadium located in Vientiane, the capital of Laos. Kickoff will be at 18:00 local time.
